Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain English, what information Paddle Point Leagues (“Paddle Point,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use paddlepointleagues.com, what it's used for, and who can see it. The short version: we collect what's needed to run community pickleball leagues, we don't sell it, and we don't run ads.

What we collect

Account and profile information — your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, skill level, and home community, provided when you sign up and complete your profile. Gender and date of birth are used to place players in the right leagues (for example, men's, women's, or mixed leagues, and skill divisions).
League play data — the teams you join or captain, your match schedule, scores and results, standings, and playoff history. This accumulates as you play.
Sign-in and technical data — authentication details handled by Clerk (including your Google account's name and email if you sign in with Google), plus the session cookie that keeps you logged in.

How we use it

Running leagues: teams, rosters, schedules, standings, playoffs.
Placing players in the appropriate league and division (skill, gender, age where a league calls for it).
Sending league email — schedule releases, score confirmations, reminders, and announcements (see “Your email choices” below).
Answering support requests and keeping the platform secure.

We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything unrelated to running the leagues.

What other players can see

Paddle Point is a league — some of your information is visible to other signed-in players so the league works:

Your name, home community, and skill level appear in the player directory, on team rosters, and on your player profile.
Your match results, standings, and season history are visible to signed-in players.
If you're a team captain, your email address and phone number are shared with the captains of the other teams in your league so they can reach you to coordinate play — rescheduling a match, sorting out courts, and the like. This is captain-to-captain only.
Otherwise, your email address, phone number, and date of birth are not shown to other players.

Nothing about you is published on the public (signed-out) parts of the site.

Who processes it for us

We run Paddle Point on a small set of established service providers, each of which processes your data only to provide its service to us:

Clerk — account creation and sign-in (including Google sign-in).
Supabase — our database, where league data is stored.
Resend — sending league email.
Vercel — hosting the website.

Your email choices

You can turn off schedule updates, result receipts, and announcement emails anytime from the Settings page in the app. Operational emails — the ones the league can't run without, like a score awaiting your confirmation — stay on while you have an active team.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in (set by Clerk). There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while you have an account, and league results (scores, standings) as part of the league's historical record. If you want your account deleted, email us and we'll remove your account and personal information; match results may be retained in anonymized form so past seasons' standings stay intact.

Younger players

Paddle Point is built for adults, but players under 18 may take part when a parent or guardian sets up and oversees the account. If a player is a minor, the parent or guardian is responsible for the account and the information in it. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children without a parent or guardian's involvement.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, we'll update this page, change the date at the top, and note material changes in the app or by email.
